Lambeth Council is considering planning permission for a huge development of high-rise buildings in your local area. The development is inappropriate for the area and completely out of keeping with any existing buildings in the neighbourhood. If it goes ahead, very few affordable homes would be built.
Where and what is Knollys Yard Tower Development?
This is a proposed development for a number of high-rise buildings in Knollys Yard, the triangle of land that sits between Knollys Road, Leigham Vale and Harpenden Road, in West Norwood. The proposed development includes a 24-storey tower block and a huge flyover bridge to access the site. The proposed buildings and the flyover bridge are on a scale that is completely out of step with any other buildings or bridges in the local area. The proposed development would create immense impacts on local residents’ light, privacy, noise, traffic and many other areas.
Who is behind this development?
A Malaysian-listed company called EcoWorld International is the property development company behind the proposal.
Who is this leaflet from?
This leaflet was created by Knollys Yard Action, a group of local residents who are opposed to the Knollys Yard Tower Development. We are not against all development and would support affordable developments of appropriate size and scale. We’re all volunteers and if you are interested in joining us or finding out more, please contact us via Facebook, email or twitter.
